Welcome to Stockholm and the fourth season of LidlTerm! I didn't think I'd have the time or energy to do another season, but I feel more inspired and engaged than ever to do it all again, and it's truly a privilege. I hope you will join us for this journey, which is as much a fashion adventure as it is a competition. This season, LidlTerm S3 winner Harry (Uhu) will be joining me as a judge at the panels! As stated previously, Harry will decide one of the four finalists by the end of the semi-final.
For the first task, we are going back in time to Habbo Sweden and the years of 2009-2010. There was a Habbo PR-scene like the one we are a part of today, but it was very different. People didn't compete with each other by using the wardrobe, instead creating your own stuff through MS Paint was what it was all about.
In this task, the designers went second hand shopping in Stockholm, meaning that they had to create an outfit using completely unique and original clothing items made from me and two other Swedish Habbo creators Lea-Liza and ChokladEmma in the time period 2009-2010
Let's go shopping this dress is 300 fucking dollars ... let's get it!

Filip
I've never seen you take this maximalist route before. You do it well, but I also hope you don't abandon your more streamline aesthetic. This is the most MET-gala type of look LidlTerm has ever seen, which is a bit surprising coming from you, and yet when I think about it for a minute it makes total sense for you. It's a conceptual and experimental design, but it's not too abstract or crazy, there's still approachability to it. That's why it relates so well to you: for long you have been a designer who is able to come up with exciting looks that yet have a commercial undertone to them. Certainly a large amount of details to look at here and yet it doesn't get messy or excessive: it's like looking at a fashion wedding cake for Vivienne Westwood. You took the dress and created something interesting with it: there's a harmony among the various pieces. I love that the bow around the neck and the other dainty top details have a bit of a country / old romantic Americana feel to them.

Beautiful, straight from the Met Gala you come! Honestly yeah these details are immensely gorgeous. I didn't know at first that this was you.. but now I do, damn, you clearly have more to show us, bravo.

Filip
There's a sexy color palette here and I find the top composition the most interesting: I adore the thin fishnet/mesh effect that's on display as well as the bleeding chest detail. I believe that's you at your best, when you have fun with innovation. This task provided you with a dress that has lots of potential when it comes to silhouette and sadly I must note that the weakest aspect of this design is the silhouette. It's not terrible but it looks a bit off. My suspicion is that the red mermaid skirt is abrupting the flow/balance: a more streamline skirt (or no extra skirt at all) would've allowed for the outfit to really shine. On a positive note, I applaud the head accessory you came up with, the two components look flawlessly integrated and it has oomph to it.The main point here is that when you push the envelope, you're fantastic.

To me this is one of the most graphic outfits this week, its a showstopper for me! - The way you have merged and meshed this outfit together seems like quality tradesmanship. It even looks like you have made straps to hang the original dress from.

The early 2000's was a golden age for teenage comedy-dramas being produced and today it's on a national level considered to almost be an aesthetic. I'm sure this wasn't your intention, but this looks so much like Y2K Scandinavian teenager that lives in Stockholm and is into the alt music scene. It makes me nostalgic is what I'm trying to say. Official LidlTerm rules state that you may not use Photoshop for your submission but this time I'll allow it, since you took a unique item and made it even more unique and personal to you as well. You deflated the jacket and gave it a voluminous effect and it is to me the perfect example of the rare occurance where a commercial item reaches avant garde potential. The sneaky blue tattoo matched with the blue lip is just perfect. It's a perfectly balanced outfit and I'm not sure what negative thing there even is to say? Fantastic work

harry
My my my... Haven't you shown us how to take a task and get it right around its neck. SUPER editorial! Genius work, you are hired.

Filip
I love this, I really do. First thing's first, I am always a huge fan of when people come up with new items themselves through creative, smart usage of items: you've created your very own necklace it seems. You took the jacket and you hid a lot of it, which was a bold move that is paying off: the parts of the jacket that you actually do see are incredibly effective for the look and makes you as a viewer want more and eye the details you actually do have at hand. I wouldn't think that flowery skirt would be suitable for a heavy punk/goth fashion look but here we are. I couldn't be more impressed with the choice of shoes: those clunky lime shoes are so zesty and so unorthodox, they are an oomph-factor that round off the look perfectly. A marriage of textures, shapes and colors.

This is great, it almost has a tad 'Sexy-ness' to it.. leaves me wanting more!! You took the task head on and it worked for you, good job.

Filip
I believe the way this is packaged, it has a mass appeal to it; it's very straight to the point and you get your view across here without any fuzz. On one hand, I believe that the top composition works flawlessly with the black dress. On the other hand, the top is slightly unimaginative in comparison to the dress and the cool accessories you chose, such as the red heels (which are damn effective) as well as the golden headpiece. This season you are guaranteed to take part until the semi-final: take some risks! There is no reason to play it safe here Cassandra. You showcase a great sense of taste here, now show us some fireworks.

I applaud your effort this week! However I do think many of your ideas fell flat due to execution.. There are some great additions here, I think more skin would've been nice (basically removing the whole fishnet top) It would've created a more heavy bottomed elongated feel to the whole ensemble.

Filip
There's a great textural quality here, you perfectly replicated some of the leathery black textures of the dress through the usage of the wings. This whole look is undeniably a whole event in itself. Despite it's dark color palette, it resembles a euphoric explosion. I am absolutely in love with the use of the veil here, which I rarely am, it gives the look a greater depth. We rarely see looks in Project Runway that are this good at envoking a sense of volume. I wish there were no pants or clunky shoes: this look would've been perfectly balanced with a mini-skirt. The bottom part is just a bit overkill, it's a great matching of pants, shoes and a belt but I believe the bottom part doesn't integrate too well with the bottom. I say that as someone who doesn't believe everything has to be matchy matchy: the black explosion dress is just a completely different vibe than the bottom part.

First glance, this is probably the most fun outfit on the panel. It oozes creativity. However I am personally a little stumpted on it a little.. it just gets a little confusing for me around the face, and maybe the amount of black.

Filip
I find your choice to incorporate some blue details onto the sleeves quite exciting and creative, that mindset is one you shouldn't let go off in this competition. The effect is almost winter camouflage-ish. You took two jackets and created one really fabulous one; I wish the rest of the outfit was as exciting. The way you mirror the textures and the colors of the top through the shoes is a 10/10 detail that has made me so impressed. It's just that the pants feel a bit dull and safe; this was the time to go really artsy and almost unorthodox with it. Anyways, you have intrigued me and I am hungry for more Ellie creations.

The texture on that jacket you achieved is a real knock-out! Good job on that. Your outfit has a great, almost street, vibe to it. Maybe we could've seen more of your chosen jacket, just because of what the task is.

Filip
Happy to have you back! The first time I saw this look I really didn't get it and I was honestly a bit disappointed. However, this look has grown on me in a way that I rarely experience and I must applaud what you did here: you didn't create something for the sake of presenting something conventionally or directly beautiful, you decided to bring raw fashion. Raw fashion is defined as looks that challenges your mindset and makes you think, it's like trying a new food for the first time. The rather over-sized and clunky aspects to this look isn't very 2023 to me but rather 2033, you're way ahead of your time here; it's innovative. There's something almost comic book/Marvel-esque about it in a flirty way as well. Absolutely love the ombre pants/shoes mixture.

Bold choices right off the bat! - I see this in an underground secret fashion show, maybe hosted by Batman. The touch of that warm reddy/brown is just what you needed to keep it from being a tad lack-luster.

Filip
Before I went through the Photoshop process I was quite underwhelmed with what I saw you submit. However, after I applied the jacket I felt like an idiot: you had an idea and it turned out perfectly. Sure, the black latex schlong isn't perhaps something that is doing many favours for you, but there's a textural value to the rather unusual and explicit use of the accessory. Somehow you're able to combine the glasses, which are dystopian futuristic, with a more fantasy-nature based jacket and yet it all works really well. I believe this is the first time I see a look that is this gray and effective because of it: as a viewer you are dying for some color and that thirst is a victory here; you envoke a reaction in the viewer. Had you actually involved a pop of color in this look it wouldn't have been as ballsy or cool.

The replication and the merging of the original textures from the jacket is sublime. It looks like I would cut my finger touching it. A very straight forward outfit, with positive results!

Filip
I'm just not sure what to say; this look is a fresh rock & roll slap across the face. I wasn't too sure how you would introduce yourself to LidlTerm, this look has shown me that you come out of the gate and show you have some of the sharpest claws as a designer, which is perhaps in line with you presenting a shredded look. I am amazed by almost every element here: the perfect integration between the top and cape to make it look like one seamless item, the overused belt that has perhaps never been showcased in a cooler way before and most importantly; by hiding a large bit of the jacket you actually enhance it's features in a most effective way. The pointy shoulders look even more pointy through your presentation. To have a black shredded tank top over a jacket is an unusual choice but I find it to be very rock & roll in an in-your-face/fuck you kind of face. I couldn't love this more than I do, thank you so much for this.

Believe it or not, but I actually think your outfit is one of the 'quieter' ones this week.. whether that's bad or good, you decide. I personally think it's a bit of both! Rock on!

Filip
The graphical elements on display here are really neat, you're playing with both simple graphical elements such as the gloves as well as more texturized elements like the skirt. There's a strong aesthetic presented here that I'd like to see more of. I just find that the sunglasses and the mini-mohawk are a bit overkill: no modern rockstar styles themselves like that. You'll have to work a tiny bit more on how you present things because with some different hair and glasses, this would've been an even more elevated design. The almost spider web-patterned works surprisingly well with the jacket. I appreciate the usage of purple in the shoes, it brings some nuance or a subtle sweet flavour that the look needed. A good start for you, keep it up!

This evokes power (with the super cool glasses ofc). Could this outfit be better? Yes, but this is a nice start & shows the jacket off perfectly.

Seems to me that you used the pointy shoulders, which are almost like pseudo armour or a human equivalent of an exoskeleton, as inspiration. In this look we see you incorporate softer and slightly more flowy fabrics, trapping them in order to envoke a further structured, hard and rigid feeling to the overall design. It’s fashion claustrophobia. My absolute favorite aspect is that you made the jacket your own by adding a bottom/hemline that is different yet goes along perfectly with the jacket. This aesthetic is perhaps a bit expected in relation to the jacket, but you’re one of the most versatile designers I know so it’s about time you get to do a look like this. A really smart use of colors as it gives the look a feeling of having more shadows than the average PR look: you gave it depth. I could really do without the veil though, you already get your point across without it.

harry
This is exactly what I visioned when I saw your name, yet you still manage to keep it fresh! I cannot wait to see if you can keep this up!

Filip
A complete showstopper, I mean come on, this couldn't be any better. You have this rare talent at creating bombastic, voluminous, dramatic garments that doesn't say anything: instead they sing. How does one look at this garment without being taken to a time and a place? We are being treated to a fantasy here. Time for me to stop gushing over this: I adore the various use of patterns and I find it both hilarious and impressive that you took the defined tit of the dress and used it as a defined shoulderpad. Absolutely adore that the sharp top edge makes the model's face more glorious or powerful. My only minor complaint is that you have a love for diva-licious shoes and for once I'd love to see you pick a really unusual pair of shoes that one wouldn't normally relate to you. This is the best or second best LidlTerm outfit I've ever seen you in (not sure if I love your burnt duo from S1 more or not). Design like this every week and you'll be the keymaster.

harry
You are showing us exactly why you are back, I did not imagine anything like this being produced in this task. Out of any outfits this week, this is what I would want to see re-created in real life.

13 designers
3 will receive keys
Without trying to sound cheesy or cliché, there are so many designers I want to give keys to this week, and yet I am restricted by the rules I've set up. This elimination format is based off the tv-show RPDR: All Stars 7, in which 2 out of the 3 finalists had the lowest amount of keys (in an RPDR-context; stars) until the last two challenges. Anything can happen, so even if you have no keys by task 7, 8 or even the semi-final, remember that a LidlTerm S4 win is never out of reach for you. There's also Uhu's finalist wildcard after the semi-final.
In 3rd place
nicrobbo95 - congratulations, you've received 1 key
In 2nd place
Fierce.Needles - congratulations, you've received 1 key

Fantastic work darling, you showcased some true passion this week, you receive 2 keys! Congratulations. Don't make the mistake to relax now though. Nothing is to be taken for granted this season.
