TASK 7 LET ME BREAK THE ICE

Welcome to the seventh panel of LidlTerm S2!

For this week, I wanted to pay tribute to my country Sweden and its climate. I asked the designers to create winter clothes, an outfit appropriate for a cold climate. The criteria was that the design should look warm and that it should have an interesting structure to it. The designers were told they could take the sporty approach, the winter hiking approach or the more avant garde/conceptional approach.

Let's see if any designers froze to death!

Finally I get to see you experiment more, this is at a level you should be every week if you want to become a finalist. You transformed the coat, made it your own and used every bit of it to your advantage. I'm not sure the skirt connects that well with the rest of your design but at least it elevates your design by adding some much needed color to the shades of black and gray. The backpack integrates unexpectedly well into the coat on the left side and I love that it's almost as if you took two coats and sewed them into one. Your design represents the cruel, merciless and cold feeling that many winter climates evoke and there is a great sense of drama and flair to your design, especially to the right side of the coat. The blue graphics in the middle have been done so many times before and I don't want to see them again, in this particular case I'm fine with it though due to the fact that it adds a little beauty and harmony which is a great contrast to the stern feeling of the coat.

I actually dropped my jaw a bit when I saw this, your outfit is an adventure and a rollercoaster in itself. Sure, it is a busy  design but I think what makes up for it is how gorgeous and crazy it is, you could look at this outfit 100 times and it's still as interesting as the first time. In my eyes there is something slightly dark and dystopian about this, your outfit makes me think of a culture or a people that has to adjust to a new cold climate due to climate change (global warming can make certain places colder, it's a theory). I adore how the outfit has Old Hollywood written over it in many ways and yet it is also very 2021. Mixing black, white and gold nowadays is deemed as rather tacky but you managed to pull off a modern take. That belt is 99 % of the time a bad idea in the world of PR, in this look it helps create a certain shape and an illusion that I've never seen before. This is glamorous yet cool and edgy, words that don't go together which further shows how impressive this design is.

I laughed when I saw this design because it puts me in a good mood. You went for the aprés ski route and your model looks like they're at a really cool party somewhere in the Alps, you're also the only one who went with that approach and I'm very glad we get a little bit of that representation for this panel. You told me you had a collection with ties to Stockholm fashion week as an inspiration and as someone who keeps track of that fashion scene you did it justice, there are many elements here that ties into Swedish winter apparel and fashion in general. It's also very Snawl, your identity is always clearly represented in your designs which is very valuable. I've seen this print-stunt before but I've never seen it be as relevant or this well done before. The necklace that is integrated into the hoodie is really charming and the white shoes were absolutely necessary for this look. I keep saying it, but you keep showing us new sides of yourself and I absolutely love that, this week we got to see Snawl at a cool aprés ski party, I can literally hear dance/techno music when I look at this design, well done.

Just wow. I've always wanted to see a really heavy, avant garde, fur coat on Habbo and I was sure I never would. This is an absolutely gorgeous look, it's runway-appropriate and yet the connection to the cold climate and nature is strong while it's also conventional. I'm not a fan of the sideburns as they look like sideburns but I understand what you were going for. It was a great move to create a really intricate and busy top and have the bottom be white and neutral, this is a perfect example of how you create a detailed look with loads of parts to it and yet while maintaining a balance. The silver earring is really chic and I appreciate the subtle and few additions of orange here and there. It is usually the kiss of death to utilize that belt as it's got a gun to it which is tacky for PR, in this context it just integrates into looking like a part of the coat's textures - very smart! You keep producing brilliant designs I've never seen before week after week and I am crossing my fingers you keep it up like this. I just absolutely love it and looking at it is like taking a deep breath in the fresh winter air of the north.

You showed me a couple of outfits for the outfit advice session and I was sure I would have to eliminate you based on what I saw. Then you submitted this out of nowhere, which makes me very happy. It's arctic, uplifting, ice-cold and yet energetic. The copper-colored textiles are surprising and would be a bad idea on paper for this task, yet it works as they add a grimy and slightly edgy feeling which is perfect, otherwise the contrast of the beautiful blue layers of fabric against the darker, dirtier textiles wouldn't have been as effective. We have seen that skirt, that shirt, that jacket, that belt and that scarf many times in PR and yet your take on it is very fresh and exciting, most likely due to the color choices, the pose and the fact that you somehow incorporated a dark edge in your design. Had you not utilized darker textiles, this look would've been too sweet and too cliché. The more I look at it the more I love it and it's impressive how much harmony there is between the many items you're using. You always take risks and I hope you never stop.

I appreciate how different it is, you went with a graphical, sporty approach which is really refreshing because no one else did and the red color makes you stand out this week. I can tell how you made this, but there is also no telling of where the shirt ends and where the skirt starts: you've successfully integrated two items in a way that looks seamless which I applaud you for. It was a smart move to have the bag and the boots be black and more or less texture-less as it allows for the red print to shine and do it's job without having to fight another distracting element. I can't shake the feeling that this look is so close to perfection and it's just missing one small element. A hat would've brought more charm to your design and made sure the winter-theme was fully embraced, but that's just a small complaint. This is a technically advanced design and it looks really cool, but for the last task and this task I can't help but to feel like you're playing it safe on the conceptual side and for next week I am asking you to be a little more wild and to take more risks.

The layers on this design are so satisfying, there are different textures that are fighting with each other and the effect is really great. The issue is that once your eyes are done with looking at the beautiful layers, there isn't really anything exciting to look at after that. I believe you had too much faith in letting the coat shine by itself, it's a great coat but most of it is just kind of there. I would've liked to have seen you experiment more with it because your design relies on 20 % of it being cool and experimental and the other 80 % is just playing it safe. That belt does absolutely nothing for the design and I believe the shoes and the gray scarf make this look a bit more like an autumn/rain outfit, especially as the coat was designed by the Habbo team for an autumn look. I'm being really tough on you with my critiques this week but this is an amazing top 7 and I have to split hairs at this point. Overall this is a great outfit with some punk elements to it which I find really refreshing and the layering on the upper top half is 10/10 .

Congratulations Razzing, your futuristic yet Old Hollywood and glamorous yet edgy winter design has earned you first place once again. Your design is absolutely fabulous and I never get tired of just looking at it. Well done to alydaman and .Uhu for making it to the top 3 this week, you both came up with incredible designs. I must say that the quality of the submissions this week was ridiculously high and that I actually wish I could've placed all 7 of you in the top 3 this week, give yourself a pat on your back no matter what ranking you got.

Cinthia my dear, you have unfortunately been eliminated. Your outfit is great and your taste-level as well as your level of talent is insane. I just happened to rank you at #7 this week and I have no choice but to eliminate you. In no way did you do a bad job, the quality of the designs this week was just insane and it could've been anyone who got eliminated. You will forever be a LidlTerm champion and we are all big fans of you, thank you for making your competitors sweat week after week.
